A free and vibrant civil society is essential to assist States to respect, protect and fulfill all human rights for all and to hold them to account when they fail to do so. Civil society has been seen as a way for people to cope with an ever larger, more bureaucratized society. There are many discussions of mediating structures as a way of expressing popular will as well as the idea of “empowerment” These concepts are essentially restatements of the concept of civil society. Defenders protection Initiative is involved in the following thematic issues;

  2. Advocacy on the effect of FATF on Civils Society Organizations in Uganda
